Jonno: Break Comes At A Good Time For Us

For the first time this season, Hull have a free Saturday and after winning seven of their nine matches played, it’s safe to say, everyone is happy with the start that has been made. A 20-15 defeat at Rotherham is not the way the players would have wanted to go into the blank weekend, but it’s a result that highlights the positive steps made so far this season. Centre Steve Johnson feels the break has come at a good time for the players and allows them to recover from what has been a bruising start to the campaign.

“I think this break has come at a good time for us,” Johnson said.
“The past couple of weeks have been pretty physical.
“We were gutted to come away from Rotherham with a loss because for large parts of that game, I think we deserved to come away with a win.
“What’s impressive so far this season, is obviously our defence.
“Without the ball, we’re a complete package, but we just need to get our attack to be at that same level.
“We are starting to play with some good attacking shape.
“If we could be more clinical when we get into the opposition ’22’, we will really start putting some impressive scores on the board.”
