Sam Crane was Hull RUFC’s matchwinning hero at Tynedale is seeking a five-point win when Loughborough Students visit Chants Ave on Saturday. Crane believes the key to their four wins from their opening five has been their ability to stop the opposition from scoring. Tynedale scored just 11 points at home and the scrum-half feels the character shown in the north east will be needed again this weekend.
“The way we stayed positive against Tynedale was impressive,” Crane said.
“We brought plenty of energy in the late stages which was important to us coming away with the win.
“That and our continued efforts in defence.
“I think we’ve had a good start to the season, but we’ve only just scratched the surface with what we can do.
“Loughborough Students are a fit athletic outfit who like to play.
“But if we bring our big physicality and dominance up front first, there’s no reason we can’t take another five points.
“It would be great to see another big crowd down at Chants Ave on Saturday.”
