Gary Pearce believes there is plenty more to come from his players after watching them beat Sheffield Tigers 29-0 at Chants Ave on Saturday. Pearce was delighted with how his team defended to keep their opponents without a point and is glad that the players have picked up from where they left off before lockdown.
“It’s early,” Pearce said.
“We have been a bit disjointed lately with Covid etc, and I imagine a lot of clubs have been through the same.
“We always said September would be like an extended pre-season to get back to where we are.
“Against Sheffield, we were like what we were before lockdown when we were pretty damn good.
“We’re only going to get better.
“We haven’t lost our passion or desire.
“Our forwards are dominant and we defend unbelievably well as a team.
“It shows we have got bags of commitment.”
Hull RUFC face Chester at Chants Ave this Saturday with a 2pm kick-off. It would be great to see you there.
