Mike Jobling hopes his side can bounce back from their narrow two-point defeat at Stourbridge last weekend by winning their first Yorkshire derby of the season. Sheffield Tigers make the trip to Chants Ave on Saturday (2pm), and the front rower wants the same atmosphere that greeted the players when they beat Luctonians in their season opener at the same venue. Jobling believes that despite last week’s loss, there is plenty more to come from this squad.
“It will be great to get back to winning ways against Sheffield Tigers,” Jobling said.
“Games between us always provide exciting rugby.
“It will be an interesting encounter, but after the narrow defeat at Stourbridge, our boys will be ready to get the wheels rolling again with a win at home.
“It was an excellent atmosphere back down at Chants Ave a few weeks ago and it was fantastic to see a lot of familiar faces.
“The feeling of the club and community coming back together really lifted the lads.
“The season so far has already shown our best is yet to come which is a great process to be a part of.
“We have had the unsurprising disruption of fellas having to isolate, but the team is no stranger to succeeding under stress.”
