The new season is just a few days away, something every rugby lover has been waiting for as the world begins to get back to normal after the coronavirus pandemic.
Hull begin their season with a tough game against Luctonians at Chants Ave which has proven to be a difficult place for visiting teams to win in recent years.
Ali Heard, who is co-captain with Cam Curry this season, is excited to be able to lead the players out on Saturday ahead of what promises to be another great season for the club.
“It’s always nice to play the first game of the season at home,” Heard said.
“You feel a lot more comfortable so we are lucky to be home in that respect.
“I’m looking forward to Saturday’s opening game, mainly because it’s been so long since we’ve played. It’s been such a long break.
“The key to success this weekend, will be adapting to a couple of new laws and being sharp at the breakdown.
“It will be massive to be playing competitive rugby again, but even more exciting that we are at Chants Ave for the first match.”
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a competitive game at Chants Ave, so it would be great to see all our supporters this Saturday to kick the season off in style. Kick-off is 2pm.
