Hull RUFC opened their pre-season friendlies with a solid 31-14 win at Macclesfield. Mike Adlard helped himself to a hat-trick of tries while Kee Naylor and Sam Crane also crossed for tries.
The team will complete their pre-season friendlies this weekend when they travel to Scunthorpe before they get their National Two North campaign at home to Luctonians on September 4 (2pm kick-off).
Saturday’s win at Macclesfield was Hull’s first game since the start of the pandemic. Forward Will Hall admits getting back out on the pitch to face another team felt so good.
“To be back playing was such a good feeling,” Hall said.
“It almost felt like a league game after waiting so long.
“The second half showed what we are really about.
“It was a bit of a slow first half after having so much time off away from playing matches.
“It was even better to get the win and have a good bus journey back with the lads.
“We’ve all missed that side of the game.”
