It is with deep regret that Hull RUFC announce the death of Chris Leake, who sadly passed away on Easter Sunday.
Chris loved rugby union and was one of our Vice-Presidents at the club and we will miss him. Chris was eight days short of his 80th birthday.
Chris was a professional journalist who had worked on several newspapers including jobs on Fleet Street as well as in the north-east of England before ending his career at the Hull Daily Mail where he reported on Hull Kingston Rovers and motor sport.
Chris became involved in our club just around the time we moved to Chants Ave and for several years, was the club’s press officer.
He later moved from Hull to Flamborough and then on to Bridlington. We offer our deepest condolences to his wife Jan and their family.
Rest in peace, Chris!
