Obituary: Julian Barkworth, our former club captain

It is with great sadness that Hull RUFC heard of the death of our former player Julian Barkworth who has passed away at the age of 51.

Julian made his senior debut for the club on November 7, 1998 in an away game at Redcar which Hull lost 46-20.
In his time with the club, Julian made 167 first team appearances, scoring 58 tries and kicked five conversions and four penalty goals for a points total of 312.
His final game was on February 19, 2005 in a home game against Liverpool/St. Helens when he scored a try in a 58-29 home win.
Julian was club captain of Hull RUFC during season 2005-06. He will be remembered as a big burly centre who never took a backward step.
Our deepest sympathy is extended to all of the Barkworth family at this very sad time for them.
Our thoughts are with you. Rest in peace Julian.
