In his latest Dias Said column, Mike looks ahead to Saturday’s home game with Sheffield Tigers and reveals what would be a good season for Hull RUFC.
Sheffield Tigers is always a big game for us as we all know a few of the players. It’s usually a good game played in good spirits but tough. They got the better of us at their place with a last minute penalty in very difficult conditions. Obviously we have hit some form and got some good results but we know they want to turn around this slump that they are in. It’s going to be another battle upfront but I think the backs on both sides like to show off their skill set and get the ball to the edge. This is a huge game for us again and if we can get the win we can start looking up and not down in the league. We are realistic in terms of where we are as a squad and club but also ambitious so finishing top 10 would be a great for our first season back in Nat 2 North. We had a good session on Tuesday and will put that together on Thursday ready with a game plan for Saturday. It should be a close game again on Saturday but one I know both teams will be looking forward to.
Remember, rugby is the winner!
