This weekend, Hull RUFC play the first of three home games in the month of February in what could be a season-defining month. In his weekly column, Mike Dias calls for rugby union supporters to get down to Chants Ave and cheer the team on to success.
Support is hugely important for the club as a whole but also the players. 100% it gives you an extra boost seeing family, friends and general supporters cheering you on.
We get a good turn out from sponsors but there is no doubt it’s sometime difficult to get “crowds” in week on week because we are competing with two Super League teams and a football team.
If you asked anyone who’s been to watch us, they will tell you it’s always eventful watching us as a team, from great tries to brain fart moments you will be entertained.
On top of that there is always good food and a bar open so it’s worth coming down and spreading the word as the players do appreciate the support.

In terms of this week’s test, again it’s another big game for us. We know Loughborough have got some threat ability and can chuck the ball about with some nice plays.
We will be going out to concentrate on ourselves and do what we can do well. It’s very much about focusing on our execution and being dominant in the contact areas.
We’ve started well the last few weeks and will be aiming for the same with a strong set piece, but also pride ourselves on our defence so hopefully we can put them under pressure there as well to force mistakes.
Remember Dias said because said is Dias backwards!
Rugby is the winner
