Johnson wants chances converted into tries

Steve Johnson wants RUFC to be more clinical when they work their way into the opposition’s ’22’ starting with Saturday’s home game with Chester.

Hull are looking for their first win of 2020 after suffering losses to Stourbridge and Hinckley, but the versatile back admits there is no need to panic.

Johnson admits confidence has not been affected by the last two results and believes they are good enough to convert good possession into points.

“Looking ahead to Chester we know what we need to do,” Johnson said.
“To be honest there are games we’ve lost this season and after wondered how we lost them?

“I don’t think we need to go back to basics.
“We’ve been doing good things, we get ourselves into the opposition ’22’ more than enough times. We just don’t finish chances off.
“To compete with the established teams in this league we have to take our chances.

“We are still massively confident and know we have more than enough ability to win our games.
“We just need to keep working hard for the wins and like I said take our chances when we get them.”
