Hull look to start 2020 win a sixth successive win

Hull have reached the halfway stage of the season in good shape, especially as a newly-promoted side.
After a run of five consecutive victories Hull find themselves three places and four points above this weekend’s opponents Stourbridge.
The Midlands side provided Hull with their second victory of the season in a close game which announced that Hull had arrived in National Two North.
Since then, Hull have recovered from what became a difficult run of games to work their up to eighth in the table.
Stourbridge have had mixed fortunes and two recent defeats to Luctonians by four points and a fifty-point defeat to league leaders Caldy in mid December suggest that they will be eager to start the second half of the season with a real urgency to get their season back on track.
Hull will be hoping prop Ben Bootham will return the squad after a leg injury, that has sidelined him for around three months.
Winger Keane Naylor should also be fit and centre Tommy Lee looks to have recovered from injury to take his place in the side.
Hull’s pack will be pleased to welcome Bootham back into the fold as his presence in the front row will add solidity especially as substitutions place a major part at this level.
If Hull can maintain the good lineout work and solid scrummaging of the past few weeks, they can build a platform to extend their winning run.
But they will need to be on their guard against a Stourbridge side who will want to see a post Christmas win and a move up the table at Hull’s expense.
