Our season finale at home to Rossendale previewed

Hull take on Rossendale at home in their final game of the season.

In the first game of the season Hull lost by a point to this week’s visitors and then went on a winning streak of 21 games. It would be a fitting end to Hull’s championship winning season if they could avenge that early reverse as they celebrate promotion to National 2 North.

Hull will have a strong side out despite having lost the services of back-row men Joe Stafford and Rupert Kay.

The front row has had a successful season in the tight and although Dom Hardman may well sit this one out with an ankle injury, Mike Dias, Mike Jobling, Tom Rice and Ben Bootham will all be available.

The second row will see Paul Hamber and Liam Regardsoe team up once again and the back row of Tom O’Donnell, Will Hall and Cameron Curry are likley to complete a competitive looking pack. Half-back pairing Harvey Harding and prolific goal kicker Simon Humberstone will be looking to provide the right kind of tactical guidance.

The backs will have leading try scorers Mike Adlard and Stephen Hihetah on the wings and a centre pairing of Steve Johnson and Ali Heard with Keane Naylor looking to complete the starting fifteen at full-back.

Lee Birch and Tomasi Tanumi give the bench some real impact.

The problem will be that Rossendale would like nothing more than to spoil the party so Hull will need to concentrate on the game.

A victory would be nothing more than a season of hard work and achievement deserves but Hull will need to leave the celebrations until after the final whistle.
