Hull travel over the Pennies this weekend to take on the Lancashire side.
Vale of Lune have not yet won this season and have clearly found the step up in class hard to cope with. A big defeat at Blaydon with a weakened team has been followed by much closer scorelines including a relatively close game against a robust Kendal side which suggests they can perform at this level but have yet to find a winning formula.
Hull on the other hand have lost just one game and have now risen to the top of the league.
A squad of players has been assembled which is creating competition for places and Hull’s coaching staff will be looking to make sure players get game time.
Last week’s side may well be altered as scrum-half Harvey Harding and centre Ben Winterburn are pressing for starting positions whilst winger Mike Adlard will come into contention if fully fit.
The pack may see Paul Hamber start in the second row and there are several options with the five or six front rowers.
Hull should do well this weekend but their opponents will be looking to impress on home turf so Hull will need to show concentration and a ruthless streak to make sure they maximise the points potential in this game.
