Hull just edged a thrilling encounter against one of the top sides in this division scoring four tries to collect a bonus point as well as the points for the win.
A solid start by Hull saw them score two tries through forwards Joe Stafford and Mike Jobling which Simon Humberstone converted.
Stafford got the touchdown after Hull’s pack drove Blaydon over their own line after they had lost their hooker to a yellow card. Jobling scored after a catch and drive from a lineout 10 yards out.
Blaydon stormed back and as half-time approached, they took the lead as full-back Nathan Bailey forced his way over as did prop Dan Fearne six minutes later.
Centre Jamie Guy converted both to give his side a two point half-time lead.
The second period started with a spectacular Hull try as centre Joey Martin picked a loose ball in his own 22-metre area and put in an astute kick into Blaydon’s half for Hull right winger Mike Adlard who outpaced everyone in an 80-yard chase to score near the posts for Humberstone to add the conversion.
Moments later Hull centre Ali Heard received the ball 35 yards out, handed off a would-be tackler and strode over for a try again converted by Humberstone.
Just as they did in the first half, Blaydon raised their game and made good use of ball including some that was kicked to them.
Jamie Appleton, Blaydon’s left winger, scored two tries in the 49th and 50th minute, but neither were converted which proved costly.
