Prop Mike Dias admits Saturday’s 33-7 win over Sheffield in their first pre-season friendly blew away some of the cobwebs after weeks of intense training.
Ahead of their trip to Cardiff this weekend, where they will face Cardiff Met and Henley Hawks, Dias wants the team to build on the positives gained from the Sheffield performance.
“Thanks to Sheffield firstly for coming to us for what was a much needed game,” Dias said.
“It was a great first run out for everyone involved.
“There were a lot of positives to take from the game which is good.
“I thought our scrum functioned well and our back line put some nice things together.
“Overall it’s a decent starting point but a long way to go as a team.
“We have a great squad and a lot of competition for places now which is good.
“Hopefully we can take another big step in the right direction against a young and energetic Cardiff Met side this weekend.”
