Tom Rice dedicated Wednesday night Yorkshire Cup success to Mary Beal and vowed to make it a double celebration by securing promotion back to National Two North this weekend.
Mary Beal, wife of John Beal whose company Beal Homes has sponsored the club throughout their 25 years, sadly passed away in December.
Regarded as the club’s number one supporter, Rice said Mary was in the thoughts of all the players as they look to complete a memorable week in the club’s history.
“I’m sure Mary is looking down on us,” Rice said.
“Everything we are going through at the minute is being done for that wonderful woman.
“It’s one down, another to go.
“It was brilliant to lift the Yorkshire as it’s been a while. I lifted it when I was about 16.
“It was great work by the boys, everybody has worked so hard over the course of the season, in fact right from the end of last season.
“It’s about time we came away with a bit of silverware.”
