With six games to go, it’s fair to say we have reached the business end of the season.
Hull find themselves second, occupying the play-off place.
Prop Ben Bootham admits getting there has involved a lot of hard work and the team are not prepared to let their endeavours go to waste over the closing weeks of the season.
“Saturday’s game against Birkenhead is very important to us,” Bootham said.
“We must pick up the win and put a message to the rest of the league that we are the team who want promotion most.
“Tomorrow, league positioning counts for nothing.
“The hard work put in by everyone this season means nothing if we don’t keep the wins coming.
“We can’t afford any slip ups.
“We only two home games remaining and the rest on the road makes for a tough back end of the season.
“But the boys know what’s expected and are well prepared.”
