Hull make the journey over the pennines to take on one of the leagues new comers this season in Kirby Lonsdale. A patchy season experienced by the home side should not lull Hull into any complecency as Kirby Lonsdale have come within a couple of points of beating both Lymm and Preston away and remain the only side who have beaten runaway league leaders Preston in the home fixture.
A heavy defeat away at Billingham seems an aberration as Kirby’s convincing victories against Pocklington, Morley and Birkenhead Park would testify.
Hull drew last weekend at Ilkley and will need to maintain concentration and take every scoring opportunity if they are to record a victory on a ground where the home side have proved hard to beat this season.
Hull’s backs have quality and depth and they clearly have the forwards to take on any in this league but they will need to be straight out of the blocks to ensure another victory against a decent side with a good home record.
