Ben Bootham has called on his team-mates to capitalise on their two games-in-hand to keep the pressure on leaders Preston and second placed Lymm.
This weekend is the first catch weekend where teams play their rescheduled fixtures which were postponed due to poor weather conditions.
Bootham accepts Hull need to win both games if they are to stand any chance of achieving their goals this season.
“It’s a vital must-win game if we want to leapfrog Lymm and keep the pressure on Preston,” Boothham said.
“With the bad weather, it often tends to level the playing field and and league position counts for nothing, just look at Kirkby Lonsdale’s win against Preston two weeks ago – the first loss for the Lancashire team.
“If we can get 10 points out of the two games in hand, it will really put the pressure on Preston.
“We have trained well this week.
“We have to make sure we play in the right areas of the fields and especially in the forwards, we need to fine tuneour catch and drive in the line out which can be a vital weapon for us.
“Kirkby Lonsdale have had some close results so we expect a tough contest.
“But if we stick to our game plan and the forwards provide a good platform for the backs, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be taking five points home with us.”
