Mike is delighted to end 2017 with a win

Going into last Saturday’s game at home to Pocklington, the number one goal was to win and finish the year on a winning note.
That was duly accomplished thanks to another Stephen Hihetah hat-trick in a 41-12 bonus-point win against Pocklington.
When Hull restart their campaign in the New Year, they will do so in second place, 12 points behind leaders Preston, the team they travel to for their first game of 2018.
That made the Pocklington win all the more significant.
“It was a great win on Saturday and the perfect way to finish the year,” Dias said.
“It was a good test for us in terms of character and sticking together to grind out a result.
“The came at us as expected but I think we showed our class when we needed to.
“On that note we know we have to be better going into the new year and second half of the season.
“It’s about putting it all together now and time to start getting complete performances not just flurries of brilliance.
“Overall though we have to look at the positives, with it being such a young squad the progress from the start of the season until now is huge.”
