When Mike Dias arrives at Chants Ave to face Kendal, he knows he and his colleagues have to be ready to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in for another 80 minute battle.
The prop excelled in last week’s 50-3 win at Birkenhead to keep the pressure on the league leaders.
Kendal is a game Dias is looking forward to knowing Hull will have to start well and play for the entire 80 minutes
“Kendal brings another challenge as everyone seems to up their game when they come to our place,” Dias said.
“We know we will have to start well again and build on our phases until they break. “When we play as a team and not individuals we look a dangerous side.
“Last weekend’s game could have potentially been a bit of a banana skin with us having a rest week and the long trip across to Merseyside, but the lads adapted really well we had less time than usual for the warm up.
“We had to get straight into it which I personally liked.
“It was a cold day with muddy conditions but from the kick we took it to them straight away with some direct carries and forwards making some good inroads.
“Fair play to Birkenhead they defended well and came up at us as well but once we broke them we stuck to our guns and eventually the scoreboard started to tick over.
“It was a great attitude from everyone and we continue to build this month for what should set us up for a huge January.”
The win was all the more special as it brought up the 100 games games for skipper Tom Rice.
Dias acknowledged the achievement of his fellow front rower by saying: “With regards to Tom what a great achievement playing 100 games for a club.
“And to continue to do so specially at his age now!”
