Billingham followed up their win over Hull with a 64-3 demolition job on struggling Birkenhead Park who look like having a hard time in the league this season; third-placed Harrogate had a very good 36-3 home win over a strangely off-colour Rossendale side who seem to have lost some of their cutting edge this season, while second-placed Lymm had to pull out all the stops before posting a narrow 21-14 home win over Kirkby Lonsdale.
Bottom of the table Morley saw their woes continue as they lost 22-46 at home to Kendal and also look like having a thankless season.
League leaders Preston Grasshoppers were far too strong for visitors Pocklington who were comprehensively beaten 53-0 and finally today’s visitors won a very tight home game against Ilkley by 18-15.
So, once again, there is no change in the top three and bottom three spots in the table.
Today’s fixtures offer up some interesting games and my three to follow are Rossendale v Lymm where seventh play second, will the Ross pitch slow down the fast-running Lymm outfit?.
Tenth-placed Kendal are a hard side to beat at home but fifth-placed Billingham are on a roll at the moment, while down at the bottom Birkenhead Park and Sandal are both desperate for points to climb away from the drop zone.
