Nkonjera: Seconds are hungry for success

Second XV captain Johnta Nkonjera believes his side have the hunger and desire to enjoy a very successful season.
And if Saturday’s 58-3 win win over Bridlington Thirds is anything to go by, he may have a point.
Defensive errors that have sometimes plagued their play were limited against Bridlington and Nkonjera wants that to be the case for the remainder of the campaign.
“The season so far is going well we’ve had some good results like beating Pocklington away and some results that didn’t go our way like Ionians at home.
“I have no doubt that we’ll do well this season.
“Personally, I’m eyeing first place.
“We’re a young team that are hungry to win games.
“Our attacking instincts and our ability to create something from nothing is our advantages over teams in the league.
“But we’re often let down by defensive errors which we’re working on.
“We’re improving in that area every week and our result against Bridlington proved it as they didn’t get a try against us even though we defended our own try line for a good part of the second half.
“They had to kick a penalty to get some points so I think that says it all.
“As a whole I personally think that game was the best we’ve had this season and we can only get better.”
