Mike Dias admits last week’s 23-17 defeat to Billingham was tough to take considering the work the players put into their preparations.
Reflecting on the game, the prop concedes they made life difficult for themselves but over complicating their game at times.
A trip to Sandal gives Hull a chance to get back to winning ways but Dias wants to see his colleagues do the simp,e things better.
“Last week was a very tough defeat, especially with the preparations leading to the game going so well,” Dias said.
“Training was decent and the warm-up and mood in the changing room before the game was honestly very good.
“It came down to the basics.
“Basically I think we were out done by basics done well.
“We constantly put ourselves under pressure by over playing or simply mistakes.
“We are a team that can run tries in from anywhere but it’s also our downfall at the moment because if that doesn’t work, we continue to make the same mistakes.
“As a group of players we addressed it after the game and a few home truths were said.
“It’s onwards and upwards now and it must be back to basics for us and build on that.”
