Rupert Kay is under no illusion that Saturday’s home game with league leaders Lymm is going to be the toughest challenge of the season so far.
And that’s saying something, considering three of the four teams Hull have already played – Preston, Rossendale and Harrogate.
The back rower says motivation won’t be an issue. A win and Hull will knock Lymm off the top of the table and could see Hull replace them.
“Saturday’s game is the biggest of our season so far,” Kay said.
“The hard work has been paying off so far, but we all know as a team we haven’t hit full stride yet.
“Knowing that and with it being a top of the table clashes that’s all the motivation the boys need.
“The key to this weekend’s game will be our ability to keep the ball and build phases and pressure.
“We need to stop coughing up the ball in good positions so easily.
“Finally the forwards battle around the line-out drive attack and defence will be the major player of the day.”
