Lee Birch and Stephen Hihetah celebrated their birthdays in style by sharing three of the four tries scored in the 27-23 win at Harrogate.
The win kept Hull on the heels of league leaders Lymm, who visit Chants Ave on Saturday in another crucial clash for Hull.
Hihetah kept up his record of scoring in every game he has played this season with his third try of the season.
Birch hadn’t scored in the opening three fixtures, but he made up for that by scoring twice against Harrogate including the game winning try four minutes from time.
Hull had never fallen behind in any of their opening games – a run of 240 minutes, but that was to change after they trailed 8-0 after 10 minutes of play.
But their character shown through to make it three wins and a draw to start the season.
Lymm continue to lead the Northern Premier League with four wins from four – all with bonus points to boot, thanks to their 33-13 win at home to Wirral.
And they will put their 100 record on the line when they visit East Yorkshire on Saturday.
Remember kick-off on Saturday has been brought forward to 2pm.
