Captain Tom Rice has warned his team-mates to be prepared for a fast start from Pocklington this weekend.
It will be the first game of the season at Percy Road and the newly promoted side will be keen to start with a bang.
Hull will have to weather the early storm if they are to record back-to-back wins.
“It’s going to be another tough challenge,” Rice said.
“They had a tough defeat against a strong Wirral side.
“This is their first league game at home this season and it’s a local derby all this will fuel their fire.
“It’s down to us collectively to put that fire out early doors.
“We’ve spoken already about our approach to each game and we’re not taking pock lightly.
“Yes they got beat last week but they will have a different attitude for this week.
“There’s one thing for sure there is a real buzz about the club and everyone is striving to get into the starting line up, so we’ll be ready to go come Saturday afternoon.”
