The division has lost five sides and gained five new sides for the new season. Huddersfield went up as very worthy unbeaten champions and we wish them well in National Two North. Waterloo and Stockport were relegated into North West Division One Cleckheaton into North East One and Doncaster Phoenix have been relocated for geographical reasons into the Midlands Premier Division.
New sides into our division are old opponents of ourselves in Harrogate and Preston Grasshoppers who were relegated from National Two North and will no doubt provide stern opposition for the rest of the clubs in the division as they will be very keen to retain their former status as soon as possible. Promoted into the division North East One champions and local East Yorkshire rivals Pocklington, along with North West One champions Kirkby Lonsdale from Cumbria and their runners-up Birkenhead Park, who beat Penrith (who played in North East One last season) in the play-offs.
Kirkby Lonsdale are the only club of this group who Hull have never played against previously and it will be good to play against Pocklington again as we had some good East Yorkshire derby encounters against them in our North East Two and Yorkshire one days when our present Director of Rugby Gary Pearce was their coach.
