Since last season ended on narrowly missing out on a play-off place, scrum-half Harvey Harding has been reflecting on a missed opportunity.
Throughout the summer, he and the rest of the squad have been waiting patiently to get back to business and make amends.
When the fixtures were released, a home game against Rossendale – the side that took the play-off place – would be the first fixture for Hull.
It’s the game Harding wanted most as it gives the players an early chance to show they are an improved side this season.
“This game is just the start we want given what happened last season,” Harding said.
“We have worked really hard all summer and Saturday is where it is going to show.
“Everyone is stronger, fitter and more focused.
“The professionalism throughout the pre-season has been outstanding and we will carry that right through to April.
“We have a great squad which has grown over the summer with the new signings and everyone is excited about stepping out on to the pitch on Saturday.”
