Hull made it two wins from two in their pre-season friendliest by beating Douglas on the Isle of Man.
Gary Pearce’s side eventually got on the island after encountering some problems at the ferry terminal at Liverpool.
Delays to repair the ferry damaged the night before meant the players, coaches and alicadoos didn’t arrive on the island until 6:30 on the Saturday morning.
Quick thinking by the management meant a training session was hastily arranged at the Vale of Lune just outside Lancaster on Friday evening before boarding the ferry in the early hours of Saturday morning.
As for the game, Hull won 38-12 with no major injuries were reported. Callum Lancaster, Ben Boothman, Cameron Curry and Joey Martin were amongst the try scorers.
