Hull started the pre-season friendliest with a comfortable run-out against Hullensians.
Tries came from thick and fast for Gary Pearce’s side at Chanterlands Avenue which served as a useful exercise ahead of the season opener against Rossendale on September 2.
Most of the squad got game time under their belt and most importantly, all the players came through unscathed.
Skipper Tom Rice said it felt good to be back in playing mode and should prepare the side for their next friendly against Douglas RUFC on the Isle of Man next Saturday.
“Everyone really enjoyed the runout,” Rice said.
“We relished the contact in game play but we know we still have work to do.
“It’s was a good starting point for us.”
Hull hope Tom McCarthy from Hullensians a speedy recovery after getting injured at the end of the game.
