Prop Steve Quigley feels that missing out on a play-off place will drive them on achieve their goal of promotion next season.
From now until the first fixture kicks off in early September, Quigley and the rest of the players will reflect knowing their campaign could have ended so differently.
Just two points separated them from Rossendale who finished second to runaway champions Huddersfield, and Quigley knows with a bit of fine tuning after a well-earned break, they can be planning for life back in National Two North.
“The off season has been pleasant but somewhat brief,” Quigley said.
“We’ve had a week off to rest the bodies and we are now back in the gym with our conditioner getting ready for the next season.
“The disappointment of finishing so close to the play-off positions is resonating throughout the squad.
“I believe every single squad member is committed to ensuring that we are that bit fitter and stronger and more prepared for next season so we can achieve that promotion which we are aiming towards.”
