Harvey Harding insists he and the rest of the first team will be prepared and primed to begin their promotion plan when the new season starts in September.
The scrum-half is eager to build on the platform laid last season and play a key role in returning Hull back to National Two North.
There was plenty of evidence to suggest Harding and co can compete in the higher division given their performances in defeats against Huddersfield and Rossendale who finished above them in the table.
And their victory against Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Cup proved the side aren’t far away from their goal.
“I feel we can take a lot away from the season just gone,” Harding said.
“We grew as a squad and a club and we are laying the right foundations to progress.
“It was disappointing missing out on the playoff spot especially by such a small margin but we showed what we can do and we can take that even further next season.
“It’s a short break for us as most of the squad are already back in training with our conditioning coach at The Pit.
“Most Saturdays will be spent relaxing with a few weekends playing 7s rugby.
“I feel it’s important we stay tight as a group over the summer and make sure we hit the ground running come September.
“I’m already looking forward to next season.”
