Prop Jobling hopes for win without wing duty

Prop Mike Jobling believes tomorrow’s season finale at home to Kendal should be seen as a celebration of how far the squad has come.
The team narrowly missed out on a play-off place after finishing third in National Three North and they were beaten in the Yorkshire Cup semi-final last weekend.
It shows the progress made under head coach Gary Pearce and Jobling is determined to put their defeat at Harrogate a week ago behind him by beating Kendal and he hopes he doesn’t have to become a makeshift winger like he did in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season.
“Kendal will be used as a celebration of the team’s success this year,” Jobling said.
“We have come so far as a squad and we have built a great foundation for the start of next season.
“In terms of the loss at Harrogate, we are not bitter and we now know we can compete at that next level.
“Kendal were a solid test in the game at their place.
“I played on the wing that day for a spell so hopefully that doesn’t happen again.”
Tomorrow’s game is sponsored by Jewson’s and will be followed by a hog roast provided by Johnson Farming. Kick-off is at 3pm.
