Saturday was not the way Tyler Price wanted his season to end.
His perfect scenario would have to be involved in the final of the Yorkshire Cup next Wednesday, but a 25-10 defeat at Harrogate put an end to those hopes.
Unavailable this weekend, it means Price’s season ends with a defeat, but insists the players have nothing to be disappointed about after narrowly missing out on promotion to National Two North also.
Reflecting on Saturday’s defeat, Price felt he could have done better to ensure it would be Hull taking on Sheffield Tigers in the final, not Harrogate.
“Overall it was a disappointment,” Price said.
“But it was a personal disappointment as well as I feel I didn’t perform as well as I could have.
“People keep using the word disappointment but I feel it was a great achievement for the team.
“We pushed a good National Two North team all the way and to make the semi final of the Yorkshire cup is a great achievement.
“I’m not here this weekend but I’m sure the boys will put things right and get back to winning ways against Kendal.
“It’s been a pleasure to be involved with the boys these last few weeks and I have really enjoyed being a part of the squad.
“I’m sure they’ll go just as hard after the game too.”
