Hull’s promotion chances may have been finished in Rossendale, captain Tom Rice insists his side will fight every second that remains of their season.
Hull remain third in National Three North following their 21-13 loss in Lancashire, but the gap between them and Rossendale is now 12 points.
With just three games left to play, it’s seems an insurmountable gap, but as long as there is rugby to be played, Rice and his team-mates will give their all in the hope of a major loss of form from Rossendale.
”We just weren’t good enough against Rossendale,” Rice said.
”We still have a lot to learn but this is a young side and we have got a lot to grow.
”We will learn from the defeat and move on.
”There is still a lot to play for this season and you never know what might happen.
”Rugby is an up and down game and Rossendale play the leaders Huddersfield next and if they don’t get anything from that, you never know what might happen.
”We will keep fighting until the very end.
”This team will come good in the coming years.”
Hull were unable to overcome a 21-3 half-time deficit adding only a Tomasi Tunami try late in the game playing down the slope at Mari Pits Leisure Centre.
