Pearce pleased with season so far

First team coach Gary Pearce admits he is pleased with how his side’s season has unfolded. With six fixtures left to play, Hull still have a chance of finishing second and secure a play-off with their Southern counterparts for a place back in National Two North.
They have their work cut out with just six games to play, but Pearce said that to still have a chance is a credit to the players for overcoming obstacles at the start of the season.
“We struggled early in the season with injuries,” Pearce said.
“So it has been a building process and our goal this year was to strengthen the squad and get more local and younger players involved.
“We have changed our attitude and focused on the long term to bring in better quality.
“We currently have eight or nine players aged between 18 and 20.
“Having local players in the first team squad helps in generating a good vibe within the club.
“We want them to feel like they are part of the furniture here because we’ve not had many locals in the squad the last few years.”
